The Radioactivity Measurement and Analysis Laboratory, located at the Gazi University Center for Basic and Engineering Sciences Application and Research Center (GÜTMAM), has achieved great success by passing the Laboratory Intercomparison Test (IAEA-TERC-2024-01 Worldwide Proficiency Test) organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency, which involved 516 laboratories worldwide. The laboratory received an A score for all radionuclides from two different environmental samples of sediment and bauxite composition, which emit natural gamma radiation, and for all decay products of uranium/thorium and 20 different radionuclides of potassium. This success in the test, which evaluates the measurement accuracy and precision of laboratories and demonstrates whether the results are in line with international standards, ensures the quality assurance of the experimental results obtained at the GÜTMAM Radioactivity Measurement and Analysis Laboratory.
