Our Radioactivity Analysis Laboratory, located within GÜTMAM, is equipped with advanced Gamma Spectroscopy measurement systems and conducts various analyses using high-purity germanium (HPGe) detectors. These detectors have the capability to perform measurements with high efficiency and resolution, including low energies down to 3 keV. They also offer high energy resolution, stability, and provide high accuracy and precision. The main radioactivity analyses conducted in our laboratory are as follows:
Radioactivity Analyses in Water and Food Products
Analyses are conducted for Cs-137 and Cs-134 isotopes.
Radioactivity Analyses in Environmental Samples and Soil
Ra-226, Th-232, K-40, and Cs-137 isotopes are detected and measured.
Radioactivity Analyses in Building Materials, Industrial Products, and Raw Materials
Ra-226, Th-232, K-40, Ac-228, and Cs-137 isotopes are analysed.
Dating in Soil and Sediment
Dating is performed using Pb-210 and Cs-137 isotopes.
Radioactivity Analyses in Other Samples
Ra-226, Th-232, K-40, Ac-228, Cs-137, Cs-134, and Th-228 isotopes are analysed.
Importance of Radioactivity Analyses
These analyses are critical for protecting environmental and public health. Detection of radioisotopes released into the environment as a result of nuclear, industrial, and medical applications is carried out to ensure safe drinking water and food consumption, monitor and control the effects of nuclear accidents. Radiation Analysis Certificate
As a result of these analyses, a Radiation Analysis Certificate is issued for the samples. This certificate indicates whether the radioactivity level of any sample to be exported abroad is within acceptable limits for human health, proving the accuracy and reliability of the analysis, and provides relevant organizations and institutions with information about the radioactivity levels.
